Homeschool Tips

Beginning our 6th year of full time homeschool!

Lessons I’ve learned:

✏️do not try to create public school at home (there’s a reason you left! 😉)

✏️allow them to direct what interests them

✏️ true learning does not happen on the pages of worksheets— do life together— explore & play. Take trips, bake, take apart machines and motors, visit family, grow a garden, make art, hunt, have conversations, manage a budget, forage, do home repairs, raise an animal—this is lifelong knowledge.

✏️ grade levels do not matter. Allow them to move through school work at their own pace. There is no timeline and no barometer of success that means anything other than their love of learning and excitement for knowledge.

✏️remember when you feel like you’re not doing enough — YOU ARE. People will doubt you. They will challenge you and quiz your kids in front of you. None of that matters. Homeschooling works!
