Last Spring’s Goats for sale
On selling my goats: With only one pregnant doe this year, Georgie–– God willing we will have a couple healthy kids born to her in March, with at least one doe. My hope would be to keep at least one doeling. I will add a new Mini Nubian buckling bottle baby this year to build up my breeding herd. I want to have 2 does in milk most of the year. UPDATED: She is currently SOLD pending pick up. I have one doeling, Mini Nubian/Nigerian X, born last spring from Gus and Gertrude. W

Patriot
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Romans 1:25 Holding a country apart from God, worshiping or honoring a flag before Christ or allowing any government to justify immorality and sin in the name of God is not my structure of worship. I considered myself a true patriot. God before country, yes, but I loved being an American. I held a belief that America was the greatest coun

Herbal Parasite Mix
I’m excited to be adding to my farm store an herbal solution for poultry and goat internal parasite management. I’ve started making my own herbal mixture that I add to my poultry and goat feed to prevent internal parasites. This herbal mixture also supports a healthy immune & digestive system. I use a combination of whole fennel seed, hyssop, wormwood, red pepper flake, oregano, mullein, ginger & thyme. I will soon be offering for sale packages of my herbal internal parasite

Truth
When this series came to me, I thought I’d have no problem every week coming up with something to write about. Writing and writing consistently was the goal. I am passionate about a lot of things and the first and foremost thing being truth. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13 I see truth in all

Brewing Kombucha
Using a stored kombucha SCOBY, I made a fresh batch of our favorite fermented tea drink. Once fermented this tea is bubbly and high in probiotics making it a great drink to naturally support gut health. This batch will be ready after a couple weeks. See this blog post for instructions. If you are needing a SCOBY to get started on your first brew check back in a month or so and mine will be ready to split again. SCOBY freshly brewed tea with added SCOBY

January Wrap Up
As January wraps up I look forward to February. It’s the time when my to-do list and wish list grows. My project list always is longer than the season. Seed and poultry catalogs arrive and look forward to more time spent working outside. The weather this winter has been strange. Each week I’m bracing and waiting for winter to actually begin. We’ve had very little moisture, most days of zero snow cover, and the temperatures have been mild— even experiencing a 60° day in Janua

Wisdom
Wisdom shouts in the streets She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: “How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. “I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attent

Fire Cider
Nothing signals fall like my first batch of fire cider. Known for its wild combination of medicinal foods it is the first remedy I use and offer at the first moans of illness. It is extremely powerful and I know it works so well. Nicknamed "Amish Amoxicillin" or "Herbal Antibiotics" this concoction (or one very much similar) dates back 2,500 years as being documented being used by Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, who said, " Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy fo

Blackbelt
Landon earned his Black Belt today and he also found out he is Montana State Champ!! 🏆⭐️ Auntie, Addi and cousins and a few special taekwondo friends were there to cheer him on. He asked his Papa to tie on his black belt. 🥹& Devo— came all the way from Ohio to be there. 🩵 I’m so proud of him for setting a goal and not only achieving it, but doing so with great effort, pride and dedication. The Korean word he chose to embroider on his belt was HONOR. May he continue to walk

Homeschool Tips
Beginning our 6th year of full time homeschool! Lessons I’ve learned: ✏️do not try to create public school at home (there’s a reason you left! 😉) ✏️allow them to direct what interests them ✏️ true learning does not happen on the pages of worksheets— do life together— explore & play. Take trips, bake, take apart machines and motors, visit family, grow a garden, make art, hunt, have conversations, manage a budget, forage, do home repairs, raise an animal—this is lifelong knowl

Happy Anniversary
19 Y E A R S Married - together for 24! Holy Moly!! 💕 We’ve been blessed by so much life, love, joy & growing pains. You cannot be married that long without occasional hard times, heartache and frustration— but daily choosing devotion is worth it. The metamorphosis we’ve experienced both separately and together has been the greatest adventure of all. We’re spending the week hiking Yellowstone together! 🥾We put on 8 miles yesterday — and only 2 miles were in the pitch dark

Forgotten Ways
It saddens me to think how in only a few short generations we forgot all the skills to feed our families from our land. Many great women have come before me laying a foundation of greatness — a power in knowing things, and in my small contribution I will not let their ways be forgotten. Chickens don’t belong in a factory. Our meat shouldn’t come from a lab. Our vegetables and fruit trees should not be sprayed with a disaster of chemical poisons. We were made from the land and
